Jason Noyes is in his 8th year as Director of Bands at Aubrey High School and his 23rd year as a Texas music educator. As Director of Bands, he oversees all aspects of the Chaparral Band Program, including directing the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and assisting with the Symphonic Band.
Under Mr. Noyes’ leadership, the Aubrey Band program has experienced significant growth and success. The Aubrey High School Marching Band advanced to the UIL 4A State Marching Band Contest in both 2024 and 2025, earning a 14th-place finish in 2024 and an 11th place finish in 2025. The Aubrey High School Wind Ensemble has also been a consistent state finalist in the ATSSB Outstanding Performance Series (OPS). Additionally, Aubrey bands have earned consistent First Division ratings at UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Evaluations, reflecting the program’s commitment to musical excellence throughout the year.
Prior to his appointment at Aubrey High School, Mr. Noyes served as Director of Bands at Bryan High School in Bryan, Texas. Under his leadership, the Bryan High School Viking Band was a consistent finalist at numerous marching contests throughout the Austin and Houston regions and earned consistent superior ratings at UIL competitions. In 2017, the Bryan High School Marching Band advanced to the UIL 5A State Marching Band Championships for the first time in school history.
Before his tenure at Bryan High School, Mr. Noyes served as Associate Director of Bands at Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas. There, he directed the non-varsity concert band, co-directed the marching band, directed two jazz ensembles, and taught beginning trumpet and horn classes at Moore MST Middle School. During his time at Robert E. Lee, the band program consistently earned superior ratings at UIL Marching, Concert, and Sight-Reading Contests while expanding its jazz program to include two big bands and a combo.
Mr. Noyes earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Texas Tech University in 2004. While at Texas Tech, he served as a section leader of the Goin’ Band from Raiderland under the direction of Keith Bearden and was principal trumpet of the Wind Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Cody Birdwell. During the summers of 2001 through 2003, he marched with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps, contributing to multiple Drum Corps International World Championship performances.
He and his wife, Tricia, are proud parents of two sons, Forrest and Ian.

Adam Myers is in his 2nd year as Assistant Band Director at Aubrey High School and his 18th year as a Texas music educator. His band directing career had taken him to teach in Tyler, Longview, Mabank, and Princeton. After growing up in San Antonio, he earned his Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance from the University of North Texas in 2001 where he was a member of the noted Wind Symphony and was named Outstanding Undergraduate in Woodwinds. In 2004, he received his Master of Music in Clarinet Performance from Southern Methodist University. Adam has been married to his wife Krista for 22 years and they have a 16-year-old daughter that keeps them on their toes. When they’re not spending time with their daughter, they both enjoy playing with their dog and cat. Adam is most excited about working with the great students of Aubrey High School!

Chris Mutz is in his 3rd year as an Assistant/Percussion Director at Aubrey High School 4th year as a Texas Music Educator. He directly works with the drumline and all 6th-12th grade percussion students. He also assists with the Marching Band, and both the Symphonic and Concert Bands at the middle school and high school.
Chris Mutz earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2020. During his time at A&M Commerce he studied percussion under Dr. Brian Zator, Dr. Andrew Lynge, Sandi Rennick, Kent Hillman, and Cory Doran. He was a member of Percussion Ensemble 1, Symphonic Band, and the Pride Marching Band. In the summer of 2017, he performed in the Front Ensemble with the Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps.
Mr. Mutz was the Percussion Director for Quinlan ISD during the 2021 – 2022 school year. Before his time in Quinlan he was the Private Lessons Teacher for North Forney High School. In addition to teaching private lessons he also worked closely with the North Forney Indoor Percussion Ensemble who were named a finalist for the 2021 WGI World Championships.
During his time away from work, Mr. Mutz enjoys watching the Dallas Stars and spending time with family and friends. He is very excited to serve the students of Aubrey ISD as the Assistant Band/Percussion Director.

Raquel Staples is in her 2nd year as Color Guard Director at Aubrey High School. Her responsibilities include directing the Color Guard during the marching and winter seasons.
Ms. Staples earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance with a minor in education and teaching certification for Dance grades 6-12 from Texas Woman’s University in 2021, graduating Magna Cum Laude. During her time at TWU, she studied many different styles of dance including Ballet, Bharatanatyam, Improvisation, Modern, and Tap. During the Fall 2021 semester, Ms. Staples student taught at Lebanon Trail High in Frisco ISD with Jamie Harmon, teaching Dance I-IV and working closely with the drill team and color guard classes.
Ms. Staples was the Dance Teacher at The Lewisville Arts Conservatory for the 2022-2023 school year. At The LAC, she ran the dance program for grades Pre-K – Middle School and created dances for the end of the school year recital.
During her time away from work, Ms. Staples enjoys watching soccer and attending games for FC Dallas and spending time with family, friends, and her dog Ringo. She is very excited to work with students of Aubrey ISD as the Color Guard Director.
